about

Jeff Timm’s debut, 'Songs for Change', unearths a fully formed artist who has been lying in wait. Folk rock that bristles with conviction, Timm has a contagious passion that could only be embodied by someone who has walked the walk and survived to tell the tale. 'Songs for Change' is a stunningly strong debut in support of human rights blanketed with the dream that music and love can heal a wounded nation.

Timm first picked up his guitar after The Rolling Stones 'Hot Rocks' collection jolted his soul. As a kid growing up in Poughkeepsie, he played in bands throughout high school, college, and beyond. Then came a grown-up move to Manhattan and all the rest. His kids were born, life’s responsibilities took hold, and songwriting moved to the back burner for more than a decade.

In 2016, a fateful next chapter began. A new love interest, Alison Javens, was magnetized and inspired by the power of Timm’s voice. She became the driving force in a burst of songwriting. They moved in together in Montclair, NJ, and new songs kept coming every day.

Soon Timm and Javens met with producer Ray Ketchem (Guided by Voices, Versus, Elk City) at Magic Door Recording. The team went to work, enlisting the help of guitarist James Mastro (The Bongos, Ian Hunter Band), bassist Larry Heinemann (Blue Man Group, Springhouse), and vocalist Renee LoBue (Elk City, Flowers of America) to help create 'Songs for Change'.

Let Jeff Timm’s voice strengthen your conviction. We all need 'Songs for Change'.
